Dry Ground Mountain Lion
Dry Ground Lion hunting is a very tough yet rewarding pursuit for the most elusive Apex predator in the US. One will experience the most stunning views the areas have to offer, as a cat will take you places many will never see. Our hunts will carry you to nearly any mountain range you wish to see in the State of Texas, and sometimes many different Mountain Ranges on one single hunt. The thrill of a Lion Hunt is not all in the trophy as it has so much more to offer. A person with any care for a K9 will be in complete awe at the ability, and stamina of a dry ground Hound. The amount of work and effort that goes into a true trained pack of hounds is unparalleled to any other hunt one can go on. The dogs will go through thick, and thin into areas and terrain that seem unpassable to man. These hounds are bred to do what they do, through generations of selective breeding, and love their job more than any animal you will ever witness.
The properties we hunt are spread out through each of the West Texas mountain ranges, spanning over an incredible amount of country. We have access to pursue Lion in nearly every Mountain range throughout the Trans-Pecos region, offering our client a very high opportunity at a mature cat. These hunts can be done by vehicle and on foot, or the "old school" way on the back of a Mule.
Our lion hunts are conducted by a "team". The team will typically consist of 2-3 sets of proven dogs, to insure a client a fresh set of dogs each day. This practice keeps our success rates at 85-90%, which is unmatched on Dry Ground. The hunts are set up as 6 Day hunts, and can be broken into two trips. We have the ability, and dog power to run up to 3 hunters at a single time or can be done as a solo. Camps will vary depending on the time of year and type of preferred hunting method. All clients will have an inclusive stay, with meals and lodging for the duration of the hunt.
